Originum began with a simple, nagging question about the standard timeline of human origins — one that didn’t fully add up under basic scrutiny. Working through that question with AI systems as research and reasoning tools, rather than as an authority to defer to, led to the Network Population Dynamics (NPD) framework: a model of human diversity built on stable, interconnected population networks, rather than a single branching evolutionary tree.
How this research is made
The analysis is AI-assisted: AI systems are used to process data, test models, and stress-test reasoning, while every research question, interpretation and conclusion remains human-directed and human-owned. This collaboration is disclosed openly rather than hidden, because transparency about method is part of what makes a claim checkable.
How it should be read
This is independent, non-institutional research. It has not yet been through formal peer review. It is presented honestly as a hypothesis worth testing — not as a settled scientific finding — and the intention is to prepare it for proper academic scrutiny, not to bypass that process.
Where it started
The research methods used in this work originated in earlier work on Ask Lindy, an AI-assisted thinking-methods application. Originum is a separate and independent project from Ask Lindy.
